Monica Chen is a rising junior at Amity. She chose to take the Storytelling class to become better at expressing her ideas. She believes that, although humans are imperfect, art is the closest form of human expression that approaches perfection, and that is why she will continue her boundless pursuit of art. Outside of writing and art in general, Monica enjoys playing on the volleyball team, competing in piano competitions, and advocating for youth empowerment. She hopes that tomorrow’s world will become shaped by art and individual expression.

Ada Semmel is a rising senior at New Haven Academy. She chose to take the Storytelling workshop because writing has always been intimidating to her. In her free time, she enjoys watching TV shows and movies, reading books, and baking. She has been singing in a church choir since the age of nine, and considers music to be one of her greatest passions. Ada is the fourth child out of five, and she has two dogs.

Molly McGurk is a student at James Hillhouse Highschool and the Educational Center for the Arts in the graduating class of 2026. She is intensely passionate with her love of the arts and humanities, filling up her time with a plethora of things in the field. Head editor of Meowzine, issue one available to you soon! Ivana Torres: is 15 years old. She is an upcoming sophomore and a goal of hers is getting better at writing stories. Reading books used to be a big hobby for her and, although her love for books still stands, she doesn't read as frequently as before. She hopes to end up expanding her knowledge by reading even more and becoming a better writer.

Jordan Smith is a rising senior at Metropolitan Business Academy. She’s a great enjoyer of all things retro and frilly. In her free time, she can be found obsesing over The Beatles, reading a thick book, or watching a fifty year old movie. Foolishly, she hopes to be a polymath someday. Jordan lives in East Haven and hopes to survive college applications enough to crawl into a four year university in her home state of Connecticut.

Julia Lenois is an incoming sophomore at Amity high school. In her free time, she enjoys writing silly prompts, reading creepy, fictional stories, painting and drawing and going to new places. She enjoys spending time with friends and family doing miscellaneous things, but equally is thrilled to be reading in solitude with her cat on her lap and dog at her feet.

Anna Muench-Nasrallah is a rising sophomore at Wilbur Cross she also does ECA for creative writing. Outside of school she enjoys art, writing, and volleyball. She has been playing volleyball for almost a year and ½ now and is hoping to play for the Cross volleyball team this season. Anna has two cats called Anya and Zeus as well as two older siblings.

Ada Akdag is a rising junior at West Haven High School in West Haven, CT. Her passion for creative writing dates back to the second grade, when she was introduced to poetry. Aside from her passion for creative writing, she enjoys reading classics such as George Orwell’s 1984, Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, and Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar, crocheting, watching classic films, and volunteering in her local community. She is an active volunteer with Save the Sound and Loaves and Fishes in New Haven.

Luca Ferranti is a rising senior at Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven Connecticut. He’s involved in many activities and clubs in and out of school like: Football, Marching Band, Concert band, National Honors Society, and Boy Scouts. He aspires to gain a history major in college and attend law school afterwards. Luca’s favorite movie is Star Wars Revenge of the Sith and his favorite hobby is hiking in the woods.

Michia Briscoe is a rising senior in New Haven, CT at Amistad High School. She loves to create in various forms including writing, crocheting, drawing, and more. She loves spending time with her friends, and most of all loves her family. She hopes to be a lawyer after pursuing either Political Science, or Business Administration so as to make a way to give back to her loved ones, and her community.

Sahil Lemar is a rising sophmore at Wilbur Cross. Outside of school I like Liverpool and playing Hockey.</strong>

Ace Anderson is a rising senior at the Cooperative School for Arts and Humanities. She is a proud dog mom, an avid reader, and a semi-proficient cook. She hopes to study history and archaeology, as it is her dream to work in museums. In line with her interest in the humanities, she enjoys working on arts and fundraising efforts to better her community.

Emma Mathew is a rising sophore at Amity High School. She enjoys any activity with a creative aspect, creating music, drawings, paintings, and clay sculptures. Emma dreams of pursuing law, participating in her school's Mock Trail and Model UN clubs. She took this class in hopes of creating more thoughtful poetry and she has overall had a great experience!

Joey Hayek is a 14 -soon to be 15- year old rising sophmore at CO-OP High School in New Haven, CT. He has always loved the arts, mainly music and writing. He is in the CO-OP choir as a soprano. His love for music has bloomed since he was a wee lad when he discovered his love for singing specifically. His passion for writing mainly bloomed in middle school when he attended ESUMS and the only artistic class available to him had been English class. He is heavily inspired by artists such as Wednesday 13, Lin Manuel Miranda, and Jonathan Davis. Despite loving all things horror and gothic, he absolutely loves musicals (mainly Hamilton, which he uses to annoy everyone unfortunate enough to talk to him with) and cute things such as Hello Kitty & Sanrio. He hopes to either succeed in the world of arts as either an actor or a musician, if not, he also hopes to become a mortician.

Trinity Vidal is a rising junior at ESUMS. My goal is to use a variety of arts to raise awareness for mental health.
